SNCF Adopted Charities

The needy, disadvantaged and disabled in our community pull our heartstrings. SNCF adopted two charities to focus our help on.

Singapore Amalgamated Services Co-operative Organisation Limited (SASCO LTD), has 25 years of experience in running welfare facilities with accredited standard. The Co-operative runs a home for the elderly; a centre that provides social and physiotherapy care to elderly recovering from stroke; a centre that offer social and psychological care for women; three childcare centres and a dementia day care centre.

Children-At-Risk Empowerment Association (CARE) is a voluntary welfare organisation operating a school-based social work with an up-stream preventive focus. Programmes designed by CARE aim to help the disadvantaged youths to succeed in life through teaching life skills, raising the level of self-esteem and building resilience. We do our part by raising funds for CARE and volunteering our time.

Besides CARE and SASCO, we also respond to other urgent pleas for help. For example, the Singapore Co-operative Movement raised over S$1million in cash and kind for the victims of the 26 December 2004 Tsunami Disaster.

SNCF has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Singapore Red Cross Society on 27 December 2007, to formalise the funding of S$645,077.34 for two Post-Tsunami
Reconstruction Projects in both Aceh and Nias Island. These include the building of 8 fishing boats, 2 rice mills and 2 tractors which are expected to be completed in June 2008.
