NTUC Co-operatives Sector

These co-operatives, formed by the National Trades Union Congress, provide childcare, housing, aged day care, food courts, supermarkets, insurance, pharmaceutical products, family clinics and dental services, print and broadcast media and thrift and loan services to members. They are formed by the labour movement with the primary purpose to serve workers and their families.

NTUC INCOME provides social security to workers and their families through low premium insurance policies. It also offers general insurance, educational and hospitalisation policies.
NTUC FairPrice is the largest supermarket chain in Singapore. It aims to stabilise the cost of living in Singapore through retailing and trading operations. Union members, as shareholders of the cooperative, enjoy dividends and attractive rebates on their purchases.
NTUC Eldercare was set up by National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) and was officially registered on 2nd April 1997 to help Singapore to meet the national challenges of our aging population and its attendant implications.
NTUC HealthCare operates a chain of pharmacy outlets conveniently located throughout Singapore. The aim of the co-operative is to promote and provide quality healthcare services at affordable prices, so as to help moderate the cost of essential healthcare services in Singapore. Members of the co-operative get discounts on certain items in NTUC Healthcare's pharmacy outlets.
NTUC Media aims to inform, educate and entertain all Singaporean workers and their families. It runs Radio Heart, broadcasting on 2 FM Channels, with English and Malay on FM91.3 and Mandarin and Tamil on FM 100.3.
NTUC ChildCare operates a string of childcare centres in major public housing estates to promote early childhood care and education at affordable rates. Union members get priority for admission of their children and fee concessions.
NTUC Choice Homes provides quality housing at competitive prices to workers and sets benchmarks for the private residential market.
NTUC Foodfare operates franchise food stalls in hawker centres and coffeeshops. Its objective is to help stabilise the prices of cooked food in Singapore through the use of more efficient methods of operation and distribution.
NTUC Thrift is a Savings and Loan Co-operative which provides affordable financial services to Union and Co-operative members. Its products include Savings Accounts, Subscription Accounts, Children's Accounts and Joint Accounts. It also offers Fixed Deposits with attractive interest rates.
